Welcome to the Jewish Federation of Ulster County! A wise Jewish mother once said that if you’re new in town and you want to meet the people in your community, put your hand in the air and volunteer. You’ll not only help repair the world through the values of tikkun olam, but you’ll make friends for life.
Your Ulster Federation (UCJF) provides the thread that links our traditions from past generations to the future, and a bridge to a variety of organizations. Jewish Ulster enriches life and volunteers share a passion for doing good. We’re committed to making a difference, and all of our volunteers help to move us forward with collective action.
There are so many ways to get involved—from joining a committee to writing stories about our community to helping distribute our Annual Jewish Calendar. Volunteers help power programs like leading our Day of Jewish Learning, organizing our annual juried art show, sale and fundraiser… Fall for Art, producing the Kolenu newsletter, reading stories to children through PJ Library, responding to calls from local senior citizens who require assistance and information, and orchestrating programs from Yom HaShoah to Yom Ha’Zikaron and Ha’Atzmaut. There is a need for every talent, and if you have the desire to get involved, we are here to welcome you.
